We used Google Search to fuel fan speculation ahead of Karol G’s historic Coachella set.

Google wanted to create a culture-shaping campaign that established Search as the go-to companion for Gen Z in lead up to Coachella.

We knew that to become the tool Gen Z turns to for music culture, Google needed to be more than a place to find out what's happening—it needed to give fans a deeper way to engage with their favorite artists and the worlds they create.

Our research revealed that, in the lead-up to Coachella, fans prepare as intently as the artists themselves. They decode artist clues, build looks inspired by album aesthetics, and spend months predicting surprise guests and debating the performances that will define the weekend.

In a culture where insider knowledge has become the new VIP access, we saw an opportunity to fuel the speculation and discovery that fans crave. By positioning Google Search and its latest AI features as an all-access pass into artists' creative worlds, we could help fans uncover hidden details, connect cultural clues, and build anticipation for the weekend ahead.

To bring the idea to life, we partnered with Coachella's first Latina headliner, Karol G. Together, we used Google's AI-powered Search features to seed clues about her upcoming performance—from stage design and wardrobe to the symbolism woven throughout her show. As fans connected the dots between Karol's identity, artistry, and the world she was creating on stage, Google Search became the tool that transformed curiosity into discovery.
